True-RMS 6.5 digits Digital Multimeter
As the latest version 6.5 digits digital multimeter, SA5062 not only extends the measuring ranges for most parameters, such as DC/AC Voltage to 1000 V, DC/AC Current to 10 A, Resistance to 100 MΩ, etc., but also adopts new user's interface and new display, which makes it a better and stable instrument for engineers in their testing work where requires extreme accuracy, sensitivity and stability.
These advantages makes SA5062 more suitable for below applications:
1. Research and Development(R&D)
In R&D labs, engineers are characterizing new components, circuits, and technologies. They need to measure parameters with high confidence.
· Semiconductor Characterization: Measuring leakage currents in transistors, precise threshold voltages, and the performance of new integrated circuits (ICs). These currents can be in the nanoamp (nA) or picoamp (pA) range.
· Sensor Development & Testing: Precisely measuring the tiny output signals from advanced sensors (e.g., strain gauges, photodiodes, temperature sensors, MEMS devices) to calibrate them and understand their behavior.
· Low-Power Electronics Design: Verifying the power consumption of battery-powered devices, like IoT sensors, which operate in sleep modes drawing microamps (µA) or less.
2. Metrology and Calibration Labs
This is the most critical application. These labs are responsible for maintaining the "chain of traceability" to international standards (like NIST in the US).
· Primary and Secondary Standards: A 6.5-digit DMM is used to calibrate and verify the performance of lower-grade instruments, such as 4.5-digit or 5.5-digit handheld DMMs and power supplies.
· Inter-laboratory Comparisons: Ensuring that measurements made in one lab are consistent with those made in another.
3. Precision Manufacturing and Quality Assurance (QA)
In high-reliability industries, components and systems must be tested to very tight tolerances.
· Aerospace and Defense: Testing avionics, guidance systems, and communication equipment to ensure they meet strict performance and safety specifications.
· Automotive (especially EV): Characterizing battery management systems (BMS), cell voltages, and current sensors in electric vehicles, where efficiency and safety are paramount.
