The Use Method Of Function Generators

Jan. 23, 2019

Frequency Characteristic Analyzer, commonly known as frequency sweepers, are used to measure the frequency characteristics of networks (circuits), such as measurement filters, amplifiers, high-frequency tuners, duplexers, antennas, etc., and are often used for these electronic devices. Or network testing, is also one of the commonly used electronic measuring instruments in the laboratory.

The frequency sweeper first generates a sawtooth wave with a frequency of 50 Hz. This sawtooth wave is used to control the frequency of a high frequency sine wave oscillator while controlling the horizontal direction of the electron beam of the oscilloscope. The process forms a sweep signal and forms a zero-level DC during the reverse phase.

Frequency Characteristic Analyzer

Therefore, the sweep signal output by the sweeper is intermittent, because the instantaneous point of the sweep sawtooth wave corresponds to the geometric position of the electron beam in the horizontal direction of the display screen, and the instantaneous level of the sawtooth wave is also scanned with the sweep signal. The instantaneous frequency corresponds, so the geometric position of the electron beam in the horizontal direction of the display screen has a corresponding relationship with the instantaneous frequency of the frequency sweep signal, that is, the horizontal scale of the frequency sweeper represents the frequency axis.

The amplitude-frequency characteristic of each of the scanned sawtooth network is displayed once. Since the scanning frequency is 50 Hz, the display will display 50 times per second, which will appear to the human eye as a continuous illumination curve.
